2023-08-19D2R2 - The Deerfield Dirt Road Randonnée 2023180k, 160k, 100k, 4012AMill Village Road, Deerfield, MA 01370,MA
Gravel event.

The Deerfield Dirt-Road Randonnee was conceived in the 1990's as just a favorite dirt-road loop in the hilltowns of Franklin County, Massachusetts. Since its birth as an organized event in 2005, many have hailed D2R2 as the hardest, most beautiful, most fun, most traffic-free, most unique, and overall best ride that they have ever done. However, D2R2 will continue to maintain its original character as just a bike ride –

The courses will use the narrowest, oldest, twistiest, quietest, and most-scenic roads available.
A range of courses will provide access to novices as well as challenge the world's strongest riders.
D2R2 will never offer prizes for anything other than gags, nor will finish results ever be presented like it was a race.
Riders shall cover the course in a self-sufficient manner, without motorized crew vehicles.
The organization will put as much effort into its food offerings as the routes
The event is a key fundraiser for the Franklin Land Trust's efforts to preserve land in the region.

2023-06-11FRENCH CREEK IRON TOUR - cycling for open space100, 90, 75, 70, 62,12A762 Pike Springs Rd, Phoenixville, PA 19460,PA
Road and gravel event.

When you ride in the French Creek Iron Tour, you have a direct impact on the preservation of the scenic countryside that surrounds you. Since 1967, French & Pickering Creeks Conservation Trust has protected more than 13,350 acres and created greenways and trails along the two creeks. Historically important lands are included in those 13,350 acres.

The Iron Tour has distance options of 11, 20, 32, 50, 62, 75, and 100 miles for road courses, and two gravel courses- a Petite Gravel (60-70 miles) and a Grande Gravel (80-90 miles) with approximately 40% on gravel. There’s something for every type of rider, from a short ride through breathtaking countryside to a century route that visits numerous quaint villages and historical landmarks. The start and finish location at the Kimberton Fire Company Fairgrounds provides an excellent launch into unspoiled country and a great place to gather afterward for fun and food. Distances and elevations might vary some depending on the tracking method used.

Full Hundo: This is the whole enchilada. Don't select this category without knowing that you are in for one hell of a challenge. This route is somewhere between 7,000 and 10,000 vertical feet of climbing (depending on the gps) and has broken many very experienced cyclists.

3/4 Hundo: Here is the ride for those of you who are on the fence between doing the whole ride and the shorter course. You will still get a great ride, some gravel, great views, and quite a challenge.

Although this is a shorter distance than the full hundo, please be aware that this is a significant challenge for many experienced cyclists.

Metric Hundo: If you want to come out and give this ride a try but you don't have the time, or the hundo is just a bit too much to bite off for you, this is a perfect ride.

There is plenty of gravel, elevation, scenery, and smiles to make it totally worth trying this ride.

Just because this is a shorter distance, do not expect it to be a walk in the park. There are some monster climbs and some challenging descents on this course.
